Back with the usual news updates. First from the home front some good news for a change! I’ve officially lost six pounds in a month with help from my dietician! Definitely keeping up the good work. I was thrilled to learn my new digital scales I got after years of using broken ones are working perfectly.
Just when you get to thinking there’s hope for the world you read something like this. Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, has said she’s supporting a super PAC, trying to get Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2,016. She of course supported Obama, and says it’s important to get things started early for Hillary building a grassroots army from the ground up and using the internet effectively as a tool. Her group has already started holding rallies even though Hillary hasn’t announced any plans to run. I’m praying, along with Those in The Afterlife, that she doesn’t run. However if she does things would definitely not bode well for the world.
I see The Taliban has offered to hand over a captive US soldier for five of their senior operatives. What? Do they think we were born yesterday? DUH! I would really be surprised and disappointed if our government agreed to this! There’s got to be another way to get hm back alive.
Polls say Obama’s approval rating has slightly dropped since May. Maybe people are finally beginning to understand what he’s trying to do. Hopefully soon it’ll drop a lot more.
Well, at least one strike against Pope Francis besides the whole general God vs.The Catholic Church thing. He’s decided to add St. Joseph to the Catholic Mass because they’re interested in ‘fatherly care.’ The article I read states that The Church recognizes the fact that Joseph was Jesus’ foster father, and that ‘he fostered the humanity of Jesus.’ It is nice they’re recognizing this, but as you all remember, the saints don’t want to be prayed to. Well just another nail in their coffins so to speak.
It figures The Supreme Court on Thursday chickened out and postponed their rulings on voting rights, affirmative action and gay marriage. Of course the most important rulings will be on “the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.” Let’s pray they stick with God and do the right things.
Condolences for family and friends of actor/singer Slim Whitman who I remember from several tv ads for his music and of course “Mars Attacks.” Good stuff! He was 90.
