A Personal Disaster

Greetings!

Congratulatious everybody! We made it to another year!  Me just barely but I’ll go into that a bit later.

The new year didn’t start without more disasters happening as usual.  There’s the controversy about the ICE members shooting people unnecessarily,.  These government  people just need tro learn to go by the rules!   Also the weather is the other big news topic.  There’s one major winter storm after another!, a couple even here in Maine!  Some of these out there are even of the record breaking category!  I’m just glad I’m in a nice safe, warm place.  Thank you State Of Maine for taking good care of me and other seniors here  giving us a  comfortable place to live.

The second disaster  here locally is a small plane crashed at the Bangor International Airport,  during bad weather conditions for flying, and six people died.  Aparently the plane was from Houston, Texas carrying four passengers and two crew members.  The passengers included two people who owned a luxury airline company.   Unfortunately the plane ended up upside down on the runway and didn’t look in very good shape to say the least.  Authorties said that the remains of the victims were still on what was left of the plane, awaiting identification by friends and family, after which they would be respectfully removed to a proper place.  They also stated that the details behind the crash appeared very strange.    Hmmm!  I might put in my opinion that it probably was at least partially due to ice on the wings?  But I don’t know all the details available.  I watch those shows on the Discovery channel where airline employees investigate crashes of their planes and usually find the reason behind them.  I love seeing how the investigations are done.  I’m sure we’ll know the answers soon enough.  Condolences to victims and their friends and relatives.

Sorry this entry is so short.  I suffered a small disaster myself.  Last Sunday shortly after noon  I tripped over bottled water in my living room and fell literally on my face!  l wasn’t paying attention to where I was walking getting ready for lunch and boom!  Fortunately I’m ok.  Nothing was broken.  My wonderful neighbor heard me fall and came over, helped me get to a chair and called 911.  I went to the ER in the ambulance and after waiting a while, and having exreays of my face, a doctor who I’d never seen before came in and put four stitches in my face.  I was literally screaming it hurt so bad because  of course they had to stick me several times in my mouth to make sure the  numbing stuff had worked.  Many times it hadn’t taken effect yet.  Anyway I had four stitches in my face.   I have to go to my doctor’s office  on February 10 to have the stitches removed because they couldn’t use the ones that dissolve in this case.  That was the most painful thing about the whole incident.  Anyway My brand new glasses caused huge bruises around my eyes, and one of the lenses is even scratched.  But I will be able to get a replacement pair.   I’m still shaken up from this accident, and am having aches in my upper back and sholders, fortunately not bad.  Anyway I’m getting better every day.  I’ve been taking pictures of my face and the progress it’s making.  I’ve posted them on my Facebook page if anyone would like to see them.  I’m not sure if the page is  listed under AluraStar or Linda J Polley.  You’ll have to check and see.  I guarantee you it’s well worth the time.

Well I guess that’s about all for this month.   Hopefully my face will be all healed up by next time.

Be sure to check my recent blog posts.
