It’s A Mystery!

Sometimes you just wonder what’s going on.  A friend on Twitter made me aware of two books for sale that have my late husband in them.  The first is called “God Made Me Do It: True Stories Of The Worst Advice The Lord Has Ever Given His Followers” by Marc Hartzman.  This is a paperback which sells for $11.04 on Amazon.com.  According to the table of contents it tells of Gerald’s presidential campaign and how he wanted to get First Lady Laura Bush to be his vice presidential candidate.  The second is called “Codename: Magpie: The Final Nazi Espionage Mission Against the U.S. in WW II” by James Centner. This is also for sale on Amazon.com and is a paperback book.  It has an horrendous price on it!  It’s a fiction novel about events during World War II.  To me it’s a real mystery!  Apparently the author knows about Gerald’s dad having been a cab driver during that time who without knowing who they were, gave Nazi spies a ride from Bar Harbor to Bangor.  He uses Gerald’s name instead of his dad’s.  Strange stuff!   I wanted to contact this author but couldn’t find a way to get ahold of him.  You just never know what’s going to turn up when. Here’s the link to the Amazon copy.

Unfortunately I was also made aware of the fact that the offensive book, “Gerald Polley” is still for sale on line, on the Barnes & Noble and EBay web sites.  It’s apparently made up of the Wikipedia article about Gerald, plus uses some of our copyrighted material without our permission.  whoever this Frenchman is with the obviously phony pen name, is charging an outrageous price for this book too!  Like a friend said, who would pay that much especially when the info is all on line for free?
What do you know? I did a search of my name on Amazon.com and what did I find but a copy of “Kevin & Bean’s Last Christmas 1999” CD featuring my song “Listen To The Angels” I channeled from John Lennon remixed by Moby!  Here’s the link in case you’d like one. There’s several copies available.

Now on the national news front looks like.  Things are a little slow out there so I hope you’ll bear with me.   White House tours have been canceled because of the sequestration cuts.  Yes it effects even there.  Unfortunately it hurts the ordinary folks most who were looking forward to checking out The White House.
The Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has died at age 58.   He had cancer for two years.  I’m wondering if he made it to The Afterlife or not.  I’m guessing no.
In Oregon a gay man was hit a couple of times with a wrench by a guy driving an SUV because he dyed his standard size poodle pink.  The attacker was yelling how this was  unAmerican and swearing about “fags”. That’s not the way to do things!  No violence please!
Ha, too little to late.  Polls show Obama’s approval rating numbers have dropped 7 points recently because of the fiscal situation.  There needs to be a lot more dropped to make any difference, if this makes any.
Speaking of Obama, he is going to be  meeting with Senate Republicans on Capital Hill on Thursday of next week.  Apparently Obama has some kind of solutions “to  shrink Washington spending and grow the economy.”  I personally think it’ll be another waste of time and money.
The European Union is suing Microsoft a fine of $733 million dollars because in 2009 they paid 860 million Euros and pledged that while installing the Windows operating system on personal computers people in Europe would have a choice of browsers to install, and Internet Explorer wouldn’t automatically install with the system.  This is because of the complaints that Microsoft was dominating Windows.  Anyway, needless to say Microsoft didn’t completely go through with its pledge, and after 15 million or so installations of Windows 7 in Europe during May, 2011 this didn’t happen.  So far Microsoft has paid 2.2 billion dollars in fines to EU’s executive branch, The Commission, for the violation.  And some people wonder why others don’t like Microsoft!  As Gerald used to say, I wish the Macs weren’t so expensive,  I would have one as soon as possible!
Here’s the link to a page I put up on my web site featuring a recent picture of me.  People have given me nice comments about it and because of current Facebook upgrades I haven’t been able to upload it there.  So I decided to take care of things this way.  Hope you enjoy it.  Someone told me on Twitter that if I had a book published the pic would be perfect for the back cover of it.  I agree!  I may be prejudice but I think it’s the best one in ages also!

On one final personal note, I’m making progress with proof reading the book I’m preparing to sell as a Kindle book on Amazon.com.  I’m proofreading chapter 44 and there’s 64 in all.   I can’t wait for the day when I can say it’s done and for sale online!  I’m just curious how well it will do.
