Well, the long weekend is over now back to work! I had a good one, though it was spent at home. Even got some cleaning done.
First of all, I’d like to mention I was inspired by my friends in The Afterlife to upload the “Here’s To The Warriors!” music video I made for the troops back in November, 2,006 in Bismarck, ND to my new You Tube account for Memorial Day. I’ve done so, and the link to this is below. This song was not by John Lennon. It does say who wrote it and I don’t think it’ll harm anything. We’ll see. Hope you’ll check it out and pass it on. As I mention there, The Afterlife would love it if the troops sang this song and perhaps even made a video of their own doing so.

Monday when I checked the news in the morning it warmed my heart and gave me hope for the world. As I reported a while ago France had legalized gay marriage. I figured all was lost for them. Now I read that over 150,000 French citizens have marched against it! And this was in Paris! Woo hoo! I’m sure God will bless these protesters, maybe even the 1,000 that refused to leave after the march was over and were arrested! Sounds like the French president who pledged to legalize gay marriage when he was elected is just like Obama. And the people don’t care much for him either. On the same note so sick that a movie about a “touching lesbian romance” won the top honor at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. Oh well, a small thing. I’d be very surprised if there’s lesbian film in next year’s festival.
I agree with my late husband Gerald. He once said “The world is such crap now! You can’t check out the news without hearing about some horrible crime.” Here’s a good example. A 17 year old boy has been arrested over a plot to blow up a Portland, Oregon high school. He will be charged with attempted murder as well as six counts of manufacturing and possessing a destructive device as investigators found six home made bombs in a hidden compartment in his bedroom! They also found pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails, a Drano bomb and a napalm bomb! These were at his mother’s and father’s houses. This kid also had some written plans, and, a timeline for the attack! Police received a tip then investigated and made the arrest. He will be tried as an adult, praise The Lords! They say he took a video game approach to killing people at school so they will check to see if he has any mental issues. Fortunately they found no bombs at the high school. They say the was “forged and inspired by the Columbine shootings.” Why, people, why? Why do you want to be bad?
Pope Francis has paid tribute to a courageous priest killed by the Mafia twenty years ago for preaching against them, who is now a martyr, and asks mob members to turn from their evil ways especially “the exploitation of people in trafficking rackets such as prostitution.” I doubt if it’ll do any good, but it’s worth a try.
On a final note what the heck is going on with America’s roads and bridges? First in Washington state there was the bridge collapse the other day which sent at least two cars into the water, fortunately all occupants were rescued I believe without injury. Now in Missouri two trains crashed into each other at a rail intersection, then there was a chain reaction where several of their cars went off the track. Some hit a support pillar then the highway overpass collapsed! It will have to be replaced and will cost about three million dollars! It won’t open until September. The cause of the crash is under investigation. For some reason I don’t think this should have caused the collapse. Looks like the inspectors aren’t doing a very good job, most likely because of a lack of funds for upkeep. Someone better get this stuff straightened out fast! Highway safety is a key issue. No one should be stingy with the budget on this!
