Greetings!
Apologies for this post taking me so long to put together, but things in the news seem to be stuck. Not much has changed from last month.
The Democrats have avoided a government shutdown by postponing the chance of one to next month. And they’re still spending money! Of course the stimulus and other such issues dare still being worked on and the Democrats swear it’ll be paid for by the government, no extra taxes be put on the rich, etc to cover the expenses. I’ll just be glad when the whole mess is over and settled, hopefully in a way that does benefit the people.
Besides this who mess now there’s the mid term election coming up. I usually don’t vote on these because I don’t have transportation to do so. So I’m hoping for the best. I urge anyone who can to get out and vote.
In entertainment news, so devastated by the news about actor Alec Baldwin’s accidental fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the new western movie “Rust” at the ranch they were filming at near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Such a tragic incident for all concerned. From what I’ve been reading about this it happened because the people in charge of the prop gun never fully checked it to make sure it didn’t have live bullets in it. Unfortunately the gun went off while Baldwin was practicing for his next scene with it. The lady passed away at a nearby hospital not long after she arrived there. I was shocked to learn the bullet that killed Halyna Hutchins passed through her and injured another member of the crew!
Something has to be done about the gun safety on movie and tv sets! This brings to mind the death Brandon Lee who was killed while filming “The Crow” after being shot by what was supposed to be a prop gun, and also one of my favorite actors, Jon-Eric Hexum who was killed by a blank cartridge gunshot to the head on the set of his tv series “Cover Up” back in 1984. Condolences to the lady’s husband and son. I pray something can be done soon to stop these needless tragedies. Meanwhile, I’m very concerned about Alec Baldwin. I’m sure though he has good support there in these troubled times. After all it wasn’t his fault.
That’s about all for this month here. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! There won’t be anything going on here. That’s ok. Looks like a lot of good Halloween movies like “Hocus Pocus” will be watched. I’ve got my “Hocus Pocus” t shirt to wear, a little witch hat and a Harry Potter type wand. I’ll try to get a picture taken with them.
Last but not least, I’m going to try to put one of Gerald’s books on the web site for a kind of gift for everyone for December. We’ll see how it goes! Oh! Don’t forget to get your booster shot! Be back next month!
